Water Membranes & Filters

Membranes are barriers that allow water to pass through but stop unwanted substances from passing through with it. Working much like the cell walls in our bodies, technical membranes filter out salts, impurities, viruses, and other particles from water.

Domestic filters contain granular activated carbon (GAC) and Block carbon which reduces unwanted tastes and odors by absorption. More expensive filters use carbon block elements which are generally more effective and usually carry a micron rating for particle removal.

Water filter cartridges generally have a lifespan of 6 to 12 months. When the filter becomes clogged or cartridges are not replaced on time, they become less effective at filtering out the contaminants and chemicals present in the tap water making them ineffective.
